Hometown:

Jill Hoffman was born in Seattle where she lived a "wholesome life in the woods" until the family was swept up by her father's transfer to L.A.

In January of 1982, a travel-weary Jill joined her mother in Sarasota "to change my lifestyle for a while," and never left.  Over the last 22 years, she has curated many exhibitions for private and public organizations.  She has been represented by galleries in Sarasota and Tampa, and taught at the Florida Institute of Fine Art.

Education:
At 18 she moved to the San Francisco area, graduating with distinction from the California College of Arts & Crafts.

Work experience:
After college, she became involved in performance and installation pieces in publicly-funded art spaces, and documented the punk rock movement on video in the U.S. and Europe.
